How to add a profile photo to your resume

Adding a profile picture is simple and makes your resume more personal. Here’s exactly how to do it:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Open your resume in the Resume.co builder.
  2. Scroll to the Personal Details section (at the very top).
  3. Click + Show additional details.
  4. Click the "Add photo" button.
  5. Choose a photo from your computer or phone and upload it.

That’s it! Your photo will appear on the resume right away.

Where will the photo show? It appears neatly next to your name and contact information (position may vary by template).

Tips for a Great Photo:

  • Use a clear, professional headshot (smiling, good lighting, plain background is best).
  • Square or portrait shape works great.
  • File types: JPG or PNG.
  • Keep the file size reasonable for best results.

Want to change or remove it?

  • Click on your current photo.
  • Choose Remove or upload a new one.

Important Note on "Moving Photos": Resume.co supports static (still) photos only. Animated GIFs or moving images are not supported because they do not work well in PDF resumes. Use a regular photo for the best professional look.
